IPL has really dented the revenues of bollywood industry. During the 44 days IPL period no film had done good business except Imraan Hashmi starrer Jannat and only reason for success of Jannat the analysts are seeing that It is also cricket based film and Bhatt has really encashed the IPL by releasing the film during the IPL. Many big films releasing date was postponed due to IPL.

Now IPL is over and there will be line of big releases which will start with Sarkar Raj much awaited film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan releasing on June 6. Priyadarshan’s ‘Mere Baap Pehle Aap’ and Yash Raj’s ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee will be other big releases for month of June.

In the month of July two new comer will be debuting Imraan, Aamir’s nephew will make his debut with ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ and Harman Baweja will be making debut on same date July 4 with most hyped sci-fi film ‘Love story 2050’ opposite bollywood’s top actress Priyanka Chopra.

Vipul Shah said,” IPL has affected the revenues of films released during that period and Industry will plan release dated taking into account the IPL from next year.”

A Bollywood expert said,” IPL will really dent the bollywood revenues every year as IPL will be commencing every year during the summer holidays and summer holidays are most productive for bollywood but now it will become unproductive due to IPL.”

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut of “gangster” fame has claimed she is facing a threat to her life from her sister`s alleged stalker and has filed a complaint here against him, a police official said on Tuesday.

Deputy Commisisoner of Police V K Choubey said, “a complaint was filed at Versova police station yesterday and we are investigating the matter.”

Police here have written a letter to their counterparts in Uttarakhand, informing the latter about the alleged threats to Kangana, who lives in the metropolis.

In Dehra Dun, Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Gunjiyal said Avinash Sharma, on whose alleged instructions acid was thrown on Kangana`s sister Rangoli last year, has been “ringing up” the actress on her mobile phone and “threatening to throw acid on her face if he failed to marry Rangoli”.

The News of the World reports Sunday that Jade Goody has come clean, confessing that Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty was the victim of “racism” on the reality series Celebrity Big Brother.  The controversy has sparked outrage in both Great Britain and Shetty’s native India.  News of the Big Brother racial row has made its way onto US shores.

The News of the World grilled the 25-year-old with the tough questions TV host Davina McCall failed to pose about her treatment of Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty after Jade’s carefully stage-managed exit from the hit Channel 4 reality show.  Jade will get no payment for this article. Her £50,000 fee will go to charity—along with every penny of her £50,000 Big Brother fee. The £100,000 total will be divided between good causes nominated by Shilpa and Jade.

Jade Goody is to be the 6^th Housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother House after collecting 82% of the public vote – the highest single vote count in the history of the programme.  Jade will not have to face a public reception when she leaves the house as makers Endemol have taken the unusual steps of having a closed eviction and no members of the public will be present. Channel 4 showed scenes over the last 24 hours inside the Big Brother house which showed Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty discussing their argument but not before Jade had been warned about the Racist situation in the diary room.

Channel 4 will not take any action over alleged racism in Celebrity Big Brother after bosses decided they could not say for certain comments have been racially motivated.

The move comes after Carphone Warehouse withdrew its sponsorship of the controversial reality show amid claims that Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was being racially bullied by three other housemates.

UK mobile phone retailer and internet provider Carphone Warehouse has suspended its sponsorship of reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother amid claims that Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is being racially abused.

“Our concern has rapidly mounted about the broadcast behaviour of individuals within the Big Brother house,” said Carphone boss Charles Dunstone.

“As a result, we feel that as long as this continues, we are unable to associate our brand with the programme.”

The controversial TV show has prompted over 30,000 complaints from viewers angry at what is being perceived as racist bullying of the Indian star, led by reality TV millionaire Jade Goody.

UK listed Carphone, which has sponsored the show since 2004, has told Channel 4 to remove its sponsorship name and branding with.
